Purpose – to define your own panel edges or to merge certain panel edges for panelization.
- The Panel Edges tool can be used to influence the panel layout if the Panel Settings do not provide the desired layout. Here you can either define your own panel breaks (+) or merge certain panel breaks (-).
- When you are in the Panel Edge Tab, you can choose between 3 Panel Break tools:
(1) Add Panel Break: Create a rule to create a panel edge at a specific position. Use the grid that appears when you activate the tool.
(2) Add custom Panel Break: Create a rule to avoid a panel edge at a free position in the y-axis (horizontal). It is not possible to select a free position in the x-axis (vertical).
(3) Avoid panel break: Create a rule to avoid a panel edge at a specific position.
- Once you have clicked on one of the three tools, a blue grid and two red guidelines appear in the 3D model. These lines will move when you hover over the model. Select the first grid intersection (marked by the green dot) of the new panel break with a first click, and then move the mouse either in x or y direction to the second intersection. Set this point with a second click. To make your changes visible, you must click „Calculate“ again.
- Added panel breaks are indicated by a green line and merged panel breaks are indicated by a red line in your 3D model.
- You can delete custom panel breaks at any time by clicking on the panel break and pressing Delete on your keyboard.
- Note: In some situations, your newly created panel break may not cause an actual panel break. This is usually due to the fact that a panel break is not possible at this position. (In a future update, these lines will be hidden from the blue grid.)
- Note: In order for your added or merged panel breaks to be taken into account, you must set the slider "Arch. Line Magnetic" to "Essential" in the tab Panels > Settings.
