Step 4: Floorplan

Preparations

• Add new PDFs, set the scale for the given floorplan and label/name the PDF.
• Additional floors can be added using the plus button in the upper right corner. 

Editing the Floorplan

Purpose – to orient (Origin), outline & edit the floors to be panelized.

Creating Outlines

• Use the Outline tool to draw outlines. Finish it by either clicking on the starting point, or pressing Enter. It then closes automatically.

Editing Outlines

Purpose - to add or delete control points.

• You can add or delete control points to an outline by holding down the Alt key and clicking.
• To change the position of a control point, simply drag it to the new location.
• Select and delete outlines by selecting them with the selection tool and pressing the DEL key.

Undo control points

• Sometimes you want to go back a step. You can do this by pressing Backspace, to undo the last control point you drew.

Shortcuts & hot keys

• Backspace/Del – deletes the last drawn point.
• Hold Shift – forces drawing of orthogonal lines (at right angles, on the X & Y axis).
• Hold CTRL – ignores snapping into place.
• Hold ALT – adds or deletes a control point.
• Enter – closes the polygon connecting the first & last control points.
• Esc – clears current operation.
• Spacebar – recenters the view.
