What’s New in Sto Panelizer - August 2026 Update

The August 2026 update introduces a new export workflow that allows panel data from Sto Panelizer to be transferred into Revit. With the new Panels JSON export, users can download the required project data from Sto Panelizer and use it as the basis for importing the model into Revit with the STO Tools plugin.

Panels JSON Export for Revit Import

The new Panels JSON export is provided as a ZIP file and contains the data required for the Revit import workflow. After downloading and extracting the ZIP file, the Panels JSON file can be selected in Revit through the STO Tools plugin.

The import process creates the panel layout in Revit and supports the continuation of the project in a BIM environment. This helps users reuse panel data from Sto Panelizer instead of recreating panel geometry manually in Revit. In addition to the panel geometry, information about the panel type, material, and panel ID is also transferred from the Sto Panelizer to Revit.

Preparation Before Using the Import

Before using the Revit import workflow, you must install the Revit plug-in with the Sto Tools. Sto Panelizer licence holders can contact René Hellmuth ([e-mail]) to do so. You will then receive the installation file and instructions.

The current plugin workflow is intended for Revit 2026. Please make sure that Revit 2026 is installed and used for the import.

Sto Tools Plugin 

After the plugin has been configured correctly, Revit displays an STO Tools tab with an import function. From there, the exported Panels JSON file can be selected and imported into the Revit project.

Supporting BIM-Based Downstream Workflows

The workflow helps connect early panel planning in Sto Panelizer with further project work in Revit. Once imported, the panel layout can be used for additional modeling, coordination, quantity takeoff, project review, and other Revit-based workflows.
