When inserting an elevation or section onto a worksheet in Worksheet View, you can simultaneously add datum lines or insert extra dimensions after the elevation is inserted.
If you are inserting an elevation or section, a Datum Lines pane appears in the dialog:
- In Worksheet View, select Insert > SmartViews > Define SmartView
- In the Insert View dialog, select the tab containing the type of view you want to insert (Elevation or Section).
- If you want datum lines to be inserted at key points in the elevation or section, select Yes from the Include Datum Lines drop box. Otherwise, select No
If you are including datum lines:
- In the Datum Line Placement section, select the points at which you want a datum line to be placed (Grade, Grade Level, Floor Level, etc.) by selecting Yes next to each one that you want to include.
- NOTE: Grade Level is taken directly from Settings > Document Settings > Terrain > Grade Level. The height reported there will be the height above sea level (ABS) listed in the datum information. If you have left it at 0″, you can elect to show Grade but set Grade Level to No so the height doesn’t appear.
- In the Include Locations section, select the locations where you would like datum lines to be displayed by selecting Yes next to each desired location.
- To define the appearance of the datum lines, datum marks, leader lines, and text, click Settings. There are default settings that will be used if you don’t want to change them at this point.
- Click Insert. A copy of the Elevation or Section with the selected Datum Lines will be attached to your cursor. Left-click to insert it on a drawing sheet.
- If you want additional dimensions, select Tools > Dimensions > Linear Dimensions
